A new puzzle every day: guess today's wrestler. Each guess shows how close its rank, stable, birthplace, height, weight and age are to the answer.
How to read the hints
- Green (✓): same as the answer
- Yellow (△): close. Rank within 3 places, stable in the same group of stables (ichimon), birthplace in the same country but a different prefecture, height within 3 cm, weight within 10 kg, age within 2 years
- Gray (×): different
- ↑↓: how the answer compares with your guess. "↑ higher" means the answer is ranked higher, and "↓ lighter" means the answer is a lighter wrestler

How to Read This Page
The answer is always an active wrestler ranked in Makuuchi or Juryo on the latest banzuke. Wrestlers in these two top divisions, about 70 in total, are called sekitori; Makuuchi runs from Yokozuna, Ozeki, Sekiwake and Komusubi down through the Maegashira ranks, with Juryo below it. Type part of a ring name to narrow down the candidates and pick one to guess. You get six guesses a day.
Each guess is compared with the answer on six attributes. Rank counts as close when it is within three places of the answer, and the arrow shows whether the answer is ranked higher or lower. Stable counts as close when the two stables belong to the same ichimon, the groups that stables are organized into; there are currently five: Dewanoumi, Nishonoseki, Tokitsukaze, Takasago and Isegahama. Birthplace is compared by prefecture for wrestlers born in Japan and by country for wrestlers born abroad.
Height, weight and age count as close when the gap is small, and the arrow shows whether the answer is larger or smaller. A good approach is to start with a wrestler in the middle of the rankings with an average build to narrow the ranges, then use stable and birthplace to cut down the candidates. The puzzle changes every day at midnight Japan time. Your guesses and winning streak are saved in your browser, and you can share your result without revealing any names.
